Well, that was interesting; we just had our internet service cut off by Sympatico for an unpaid bill. However, we received one statement that stated we had paid and then the next one denied this. And we'd also moved our internet account onto our phone bill so we assumed they would charge us there.

So Phil phones and it turns out that they had just assumed that they would be able to take the money out of his account and sent out the statement before checking. So when it failed they sent us another bill. However, due to the fact this charge should have been transferred to another bill, or because there were discrepancies, they cancelled the charge, reconnected the internet and are sending Phil a cheque for 5 bucks for his troubles!
